Learn to love yourself

by grace you have been saveGod wants us to love ourselves.  He loves and cares for every part us, so why shouldn’t we?

We hear and experience negativity and put downs  all the time because sometimes the only thing other people can do to make themselves feel good, is to take a bite out of you.  We live in a competitive world.

And  anyway other people love themsleves and what they’re doing.  Why not you?

God made you special.  I had to learn that.  I had to learn that trying to fit in a group made no sense.  With some people, you will never be part of their club.  Learn that life is not about clubs and groups, and being accepted,   but it’s about God’ s design for you.

Why lose your identity in group?

God told Jeremiah, that before he was born, He KNEW him.  God knows each is us as well.  How do you get free from wanting to be accepted?

  1.  Learn that acceptance by people may thwart your own growth, so don’t seek for it.  It you have it fine, but don’t make it the goal of your life. Folks.are.inclined to.concentrate on their own needs, not yours.
  2. Learn that when you look in the mirror or hear your own beautiful voice.  That God made it and it’s unique and original and special.  He wants you to do great things with what he gave you.
  3. I have met so many beautiful people and some not so, but I realize that everything I’ve experienced has served to give me  a unique experience that no one can take from me.  It’s mine and mine alone. Good or bad.  It’s made me and molded me into a special vessel for Him.

Never let peoples’ opinion of you become your reality. Celebrate being original and do you, and do it well.

Friends, let me know your thoughts on this.

I am an author and a retired minister. My passion is helping others find their sense of self and identity after so many years of losing my own. So often we go to church and are still not aware of our disconnection with our true selves. The person inside that God deeply values. My husband and I have been married for over 30 years and have 3 children. I love gourmet cooking, swimming, all kinds of music, and political and religious discussion- the two things my mom said never to talk about at the dinner table.
