Clear My Thinking (The Road to Change)

Changing thought patterns is a challenge, but it’s not how old you are; it’s how open you are that determines your success. Some people say that they are too old to change. But if the change is worthwhile, you are never to old to improve. Changing a pattern or mode of thinking is a difficult task, yet, it is essential to total change. If a person is selfish, it’s because of their thought patterns. If they are careless and neglectful, it often has more to do with their mode of thinking than who they are. Adjusting our mental habits is the first step to changing our hearts.

The Soul of America

This 2016 election has brought up, what all Americans of all races, religions and backgrounds have always known. That America, while floating on the waters of freedom in its laws and rhetoric, possesses an evil underbelly of racism.

This blog has been dedicated to helping Christians with individual spiritual awareness.  But being a U.S. Citizen and part of the great state of Illinois today, my mind is focused on America’s spiritual awareness during our 2016 Presidential Campaign.  One of the greatest fights we have in this election is a fight for the soul and identity of this country we call the land of the free and the home of the brave.  The soul is defined as the real life, the inner consciousness of any being or organization.  Our soul’s true self is not based on what we say we are, it’s what we actually are in fact. Our soul is what defines us as human beings and as a nation. Continue reading “The Soul of America”

How Do I Change?

When we realize where we cannot go, we start to focus on where we can.

I’m not sure why I feel like this except that I have greater focus. This is a change for me. So I want to ask the question of how does one change. I know in my life, change always seemed to come in pieces. Very rarely, if I’ve made major changes did it come from one grand incident where I said, “I need to change”. Usually, there was a long string of good or bad happenings that brought me to a point of change. Continue reading “How Do I Change?”

The Old Things Are Passed Away

I am thanking God today for my new birth in Christ and 33 years of victory. I have a new life, a new heart; I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I was born into the family of God in August of 1982. I spent my first 19 years not knowing God at all. I was person that was hostile to Christ. Of late, God has brought back to my mind my old life, how bad off I used to be and it only makes me rejoice about the change in my life today. My old life is passed away—gone.

I am thanking God today for my new birth in Christ and and 33 years of victory over the devil. The scripture talks of walking in the “newness of life”.  When you go to the store and they say something is new, you expect that it has not been used by anyone else; it is fresh from the factory.  If you found out you’d bought a used product that you thought was new, you would take it back.  I would.  New means new. I’ve never been disappointed in this new beginning; this second chance at life that God gives.    Continue reading “The Old Things Are Passed Away”
